We build reference and calculation tools for subjects that have a right answer written down somewhere — and where getting it wrong has consequences.
Most apps in these subjects paraphrase an authoritative source and hand you a number. We read the source, check our arithmetic against it, cite the passage so you can look it up yourself, and say plainly what we have not checked.
Approach
Six commitments, the same in every product we ship.
These are not features of one app. They are the terms on which we are willing to put our name on software, and they do not change with the subject.
It runs on your device
No account, no sign-in, no sync. Your work is written to local storage and stays there — none of it is ever sent anywhere. Nothing to breach, nothing to sell, nothing that stops working when we do.
It works with no signal
Every calculation runs locally. A basement electrical room, a job site, a gym with no bars — those are exactly the places a reference tool has to keep working, so that is the condition we build for first.
It shows its work
Results come with the derivation and the citation, so you can check the reasoning instead of trusting a number. We do not reproduce copyrighted source text — we point at it precisely enough that you can read it in your own copy.
It is marked for what it is
A calculation is not a professional judgment, and we never let one look like the other. Where our output could be mistaken for an authoritative document, it says on its face that it is not one.
One price, everything in it
No tiers, no add-ons, no upsell inside the app, no feature held back to create a reason to charge again. Whatever a product costs, that price buys all of it.
We say what we did not check
Verification has an edge, and pretending otherwise is the most common lie in this category. Where a result rests on an assumption we cannot verify — equipment marking, an installation detail, a local amendment — the app tells you, in that result, at that moment.
What that costs us, so you know we mean it. Verifying Ampsheet's electrical data against three editions of the code book — article by article, table by table, cell by cell — turned up real defects in our own work: a conduit table missing two sizes, a conductor rule applied to the wrong load, a protective-device ceiling rounded the wrong direction.
We would rather tell you that than let you find it. Every one is written down, with the page it was found on, and guarded by a test so it cannot come back.

An independent software company in Texas. We are small on purpose: it is what lets us spend two days reading a code book to confirm one table, and it is why the person who answers your email is the person who wrote the calculation you are asking about.
